Plucky, Lucy, and Guz practice taking off and landing in preparation for flying to South Carolina for the winter with the rest of the geese. Plucky, the most adventurous one, challenges his brother Guz to a game of chicken. That ended badly, so he has to stay with his grandparents for the winter in Canada. That ruins all his plans for basking in the sun on a golf course. After his siblings leave without him, they communicate with each other with postcards, which are delivered by the letter-carrying geese. What will Plucky do with his old grandparents?
