Rope Myers

In 2001, Rope Myers became the World Champion Steer Wrestler, smashing the NFR arena average and the record for steer wrestling earnings in one year. He was also the 2002 Gold Medalist at the Olympic Command Performance Rodeo. In 2011, his horsemanship skills offered a new avenue for his competitive spirit-as a contestant on the History Channel's Full Metal Jousting reality show. He's been featured in several national publications, including Sports Illustrated, American Horse, USA Today, Cowboy Sports Entertainment, Western Horseman, Rolling Stone Magazine, and CBS' 48 Hours. Today Rope lives in east Texas with his wife Candice, where they both serve the ministry of Sky Ranch Christian Camps. The two have four children and, in addition to nearly 25 years of ministry experience, have spent (and continue to spend) a great deal of their time spectating-youth sports, theater productions, junior rodeos. . . loving every minute of it.
