John Sowers is a published author, speaker and cofounder of The Mentoring Project with Donald Miller. John also received the President's Champion of Change award at the White House.
Before launching The Mentoring Project, he was the multilanguage director for the Billy Graham Association, leading the most diverse outreaches in Billy Graham history, in Los Angeles and New York. He also served with the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team, with victims of Hurricane Katrina, and spoke in Billy Graham prison outreaches. Before his time with Billy Graham, John also directed a homeless shelter, where he fed and clothed the homeless, singing and eating with them every night.
John received his master of divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and his doctorate from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. He is the author of Fatherless Generation: Redeeming the Story and Heroic Path: In Search of the Masculine Heart and has written articles for Relevant magazine, Wilderness, and other publications. But his favorite accomplishment is being a dad to his daughters, Rosie, Dassi, and Eva. John lives in a cabin near Ozark, Missouri
